Traveler Selection

Due to the wide range of traveler sizes available and our commitment to customer satisfaction, we ask that you please contact one our sales professionals to discuss what size traveler you need. However, before you call, please take a moment and look over the the basic questions below that we will ask. Knowing the answers before you call will allow us to quickly size the proper unit for your application. 

The basic questions we will ask are:

1. Dimensions of the area to be irrigated- This is important to sizing the traveler
2. What is your water source?- Pond, Stream, Well, or Municipal Water Supply
3. GPM/Pressure- If you're using a Municipal Water Supply or already have a pump we will need the operating flow and pressure. It is critical that we know this to ensure that your traveler will perform to your expectations
4. Distance from water source to irrigated area- If you do not have a main line in place to the field, BOSS can advise you on the proper diameter pipe to use to keep friction loss to a minimum
5. Main line type/diameter- If you already have the main line in place we will need to know the type, diameter, and length to calculate pressure loss through the line
